Museum of the Chasseurs Ardennais Regiment

Within the Marche-en-Famenne military camp, visitors can follow a chronological trail, including models dressed in period uniforms, which traces the history of the Chasseurs Ardennais, the name given to the old 10th Infantry Regiment, from the First World War to the present day. The visit starts with a brief historical background of the 10th infantry regiment, formerly '18th afdeling' of the Dutch infantry transferred to the young Belgian Army in 1830, and continues with the 14/18 combats, the creation in 1933 of the 'Chasseurs Ardennais', the Second World War and the resistance. Documents, uniforms and pieces of equipment illustrate the period of 1946 to the present days relating to the regiment's operations abroad (Congo, Korea, ex-Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, ...). The visit ends with a twenty-minute video presentation (FR/NL).
